Presented here is an Akai Infrared Remote system from 1982 for the Akai GX-77, GX-747, UC-5 Mini Systems (UC-F5, UC-S5, etc), and the masterful Akai AP-Q80 Turntable.
With this unit you can control your system from across the room; Akai's original power of remote operation for extremely delicate and rare systems.
This is the ultimate remote system for a cared-for machine.

This remote system when used in
conjunction
with the UC Mini Systems can operate not only the tape player functions, but the tuner by changing from FM to AM, seeking out new stations and selecting preset stations, and also the Phono selections for "Start" and "Cut".
The volume can also be adjusted. UC component systems can be connected and controlled by this Infrared System.
These UC systems include:  UC-A5 Amplifier, AP-Q80 Turntable, UC-S5 Tuner, UC-F5 Stereo Cassette Deck
This is the only known remote for the beautiful Akai AP-Q80 Turntable.
When this system is paired with the Akai GX-77 or GX-747, you have the ability to play, pause, stop, rewind, and fast forward.
This particular unit was sold in January of 1982 according to the date stamp on the outside of the box. The box has some large signs of storage wear but has done its job wonderfully - protecting the precious contents for nearly 40 years.
The remote outputs strong signals and the receiver operates flawlessly. The receiver appears to be near mint condition and incredibly striking (See our featured picture). There are minor cosmetic imperfections on the remote from very minor use. The back sticker on the remote has slightly faded (You can briefly see this during the playback video above) from our mild cleaning methods. Due to battery oxidization we cleaned the terminals to allow optimal battery contact and can confirm the remote works smoothly and beautifully. The remote and receiver all look gorgeous with factory silver paint.
The remote requires "AA" batteries which will be sent to you at no extra charge in a separate package (If you are in the United States).
The receiver comes with the original power cord and four original DIN attaching cords for connecting to multiple systems! (UC, GX-77, GX-747, AP-Q80).  We also provide a professionally printed copy of the original manual in color on high quality paper.
