CLASSIC 1960's original one-owner 4- track, stereo, in-built 2 Watt/ch amplifier, Cross Field head Tape recorder, complete with 2 x Akai Microphones, tapes, 21-page Operators manual, power supply and Akai SS-30 , 5-Watt, 8 ohm Speakers etc. Although the audio electronics is fine it is strongly recommended the unit
will need a service
therefore SOLD AS IS. Able to record/playback in both Mono and Stereo, the Akai Recorder is very much original. Employs Akai's famous Cross Field Head
Technology
. Akai, 4-speed ( 7.5, 3.75, 1.3/4, and 7/8 inch). The Akai X-IV comes with and plays 5-inch reels. It also comes with two 7-inch reel adaptors , one is an Akai XTA-4, 7-inch adaptor the other is a similar, however I have not tried to play 7-inch reels so no
guarantee
is given or implied. From an era when Akai was a major supplier of some very interesting reel to reel decks and unique Crossfield Head technology, and the 'X-IV' was one of them.
