    Description

I'm starting to work through a quantity of mostly 1/4 in new tape heads, from Ampex, Nortronics and Michigan Magnetics. I'm checking them carefully and identifying them on manufacturer's specs so that you can be confident about what you are buying. If you need more data, please ask. I'll provide anything I can short of mounting the head on a deck and running it.
This listing is for a Nortronics Full Track 1/4in Record Head Part Number 8001. I measured
66 Ohms Impedance, 10 mH inductance and 6.5 Ohms DC resistance, appearing unused since being relapped
The inductance and impedance on this head are also
    18%
lower than a NOS example of this part number, with a 3% higher DC resistance, indicative of low wear before relap.
I'm identifying this as a record head as, zoomed in on the photograph I can see the gap, so not reproduce and the parameters are higher that I'd expect on an erase head. I cannot be sure. Your opinion is what counts.
I'm providing you the choice of First Class or Priority Mail shipping and if you want multiple heads, contact me before purchase and I'll do the best I can for you on price.
Check out my feedback for all sorts of quality items and bid with confidence.
Shipping quoted is for US lower 48 and anywhere else served by USPS Mail at domestic rates. Other US territories including US Military, please check for shipping before bidding. I ship internationally only via ebay Global Shipping

COLORADO SALES TAX CHANGE 1st December 2018.
As of this date, as a Colorado-based business, I am required to charge sales tax based on your location in Colorado rather than my location. Based on my in-state sales volume, the way I am going to do this is set a flat rate of 9% and refund the difference BEFORE I SHIP. As I'm human (I hope), I will forget occasionally, so please remind me if necessary. If you are in a location where the sales tax is above 9% and below 10%, I will absorb that difference. If your location is charging 10% or more, I will send a message requesting payment of the difference by Paypal. I hope that this will be a short term situation as ebay is progressively automating sales tax collection state by state.
